Went to the local autox yesterday, car had new tires on it (RE71) but it was wet out there so a lot of sliding and managing throttle....

Not quite opposite lock but some impressive controlled counter steer. Must be much more difficult to handle that beast in wet conditions.

Fortunately  we had dry and not cold conditions during our heat at Traders World yesterday. The cold was there in the first heat and a half, the rain came as a deluge as after the first runs of the 4th heat.

Its not that difficult to drive in the wet tbh...as long as you are sensible with the throttle its fairly easy

If it wasn’t so far away, I’d go, just for the pad time. We have one event left for the 25th, originally a fun event, now a make up points event.

Aah I see...we are planning to go to the tail on that weekend...if that plan falls apart, we will likely come to Traders world

Even if registration fills up, there will probably be cancelations, worst case, jump in the waiting list towards the end of that week

Grissom is the absolute best place to run. Haven’t been since I moved from Indiana in 06, but I had my r53 out there a couple times. Amazing

And now I think about it, are you running with CSCC? That’s where I learned to autocross. Those guys were great? Are any of the old timers still there?

It indeed is CSCC :)

We still have Nogan, BJ, Bob, Savino, Dales, Hirsch, Shreve  from the old guys, not sure if they used to race with you back then...

Looks like some proper slidey-fun! I need to get back on track soon, it’s been too long for me.

Lee had a catterham-esque sorta thing, nicest guy out there. Corvair guy was an old scca road racer and engineer who had a corv air because he like the challenge of trying to do the same thing teams of Porsche engineers tried in making a rear engine car go fast. And he was FAST. You’d be out there working a corner that you braked for your first run and slowly worked your way up to maybe half throttle by your last run. Then he’d go out first run and not lift at all. Hugely demoralizing to corner workers, watching him!
